First of all, I'd like to explain what Atari stands for as a whole Or used to stand for. Atari a.k.a 1,000 stoners and a wooden box...just kidding. In 1977 they made a revolutionary system that changed the world forever the Atari 2600. Not necessarily the most appealing looking system in the world but the hardware was where it was at. Now as Atari grew and molded to the times and was pretty much beaten to death by every single video game console competitor along with unexpected bad sales on the 2800 and the video game crash of 1983, Their company was sold back and forth and lost it's original appeal that it once had. Now fast forward to the "new" corporate suits and ties Atari in 1993,there was Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis/ Megadrive and the 3do. The Atari corp wanted to start a new gaming revolution...a little too soon.
